### IMDET Hosts Successful Finals for Popular Athletic Festivals

The Municipal Sports Institute of Tijuana (IMDET) recently held the district finals for the 2025 Popular Athletic Festivals. The competition saw young athletes, both boys and girls, aged between six and thirteen from various regions, participating enthusiastically in diverse sporting events.

La Presa Abelardo L. Rodríguez, one of the districts featured, conducted its events at the Mariano Matamoros Sports Unit. Meanwhile, the Otay Centenario district saw young competitors gather at the New Tijuana Sports Unit. The La Presa Este finals took place at the Queta Basilio Sports Unit, nestled near Cerro de las Abejas. Additionally, the Gran Tenochtitlán Sports Unit at Playas de Tijuana hosted competitions in conjunction with a Wellness Day organized by the Ministry of Welfare. La Mesa district held its own eliminations at the Jesús Flores Valle Primary School.

Participants competed in multiple events, such as varied distance races, throwing, and long jump. The contenders aimed to earn a spot at the Grand Municipal Final, set for Sunday, February 23, at the Tijuana Sports Unit.
