The message allegedly mentioned the return of stolen cocaine and warned police officers Hugo Cesar Obeso Rubio, Eva Sugey Alvarez Serrano, and Emanuel Perasa Martin of their fates should they fail to comply within 24 hours.

Witnesses described the suspect as wearing a black jacket, plaid shirt, and jeans, while carrying a backpack. A man matching this description was detained by authorities after a swift search.

The city of Tijuana faced further violence when a woman was shot dead on Wednesday morning while in a taxi with her young daughter. This incident occurred around 8:30 AM in the San Marino neighborhood, over the Rosarito-Tijuana Scenic Road. The victim, identified as Rocío Liliana Camez Núñez, 35, from Sinaloa, was reportedly targeted by an assailant dressed in dark clothing with a hood who subsequently fled towards the nearby Malibu area.
