### Claudia Agatón Takes Office as Mayor of Ensenada

On Monday afternoon, Claudia Agatón Muñiz was inaugurated as the first female municipal president of Ensenada. The Solemn Proclamation periods for her term from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2027, were handed to her by Dunnia Montserrat Murillo López, the president of the board of the XXV Legislature of the Baja California Congress.

In a ceremony held in the lobby of the Municipal House, Baja California Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda was present to witness the legal swearing-in of Agatón Muñiz, as well as the prosecutor trustee and council members who will form the Ensenada City Council.

Agatón Muñiz also declared the installation of the XXV City Council of Ensenada and summoned its members to the first extraordinary session of the City Council to be held on October 1 at noon in the Benito Juárez Hall of the Municipal House.

The new mayor called upon every council member to work in unity, emphasizing that each action taken should prioritize and center on the people of Ensenada. “The development of a place is achieved through social consensus. This is how the municipal government will function: a government that listens, cares, and acts. It will be a facilitating government where the ‘how to’ is the only way to work,” she emphasized.
