El Trompo Museum Flourishes

“El Trompo thrives financially, hosting 300,000 visitors yearly without government support. Collaborating with UABC, it aims to boost science education. Join for cultural events and educational fun.”

### El Trompo Boasts Healthy Finances

El Trompo Interactive Museum, located in Tijuana, is thriving financially. As a non-profit civil association, it does not receive government subsidies, according to its General Director Rosario Ruiz Camacho. Despite this, the museum welcomes around 300,000 visitors annually, not including attendance at major events such as the Feria or concerts held at the Audiorama.

“The economy of El Trompo is robust. We continuously innovate and generate new content, but this requires comprehensive support from all sectors,” Ruiz Camacho stated. She mentioned that although the museum doesn’t receive subsidies, it enjoys significant backing from the local government, emphasizing their commitment to children’s education and knowledge dissemination.

Inaugurated in December 2018, the primary mission of El Trompo is to foster strong ties with educational institutions, exposing young people to the wonders of science. “We aim for a close relationship with the basic educational sector through teachers and school programs. Our goal is to facilitate more visits, inviting schools to engage with the educational offerings while having fun and learning,” Ruiz Camacho added.

This statement was made during the signing of a collaboration agreement between El Trompo and the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC). The partnership aims to strengthen connections in areas such as science dissemination and social service. “This collaboration will allow us to work closely with various faculties and departments, which is immensely beneficial,” Ruiz Camacho emphasized.
