**Prepare for the “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament in Rosarito on March 30th**

Excitement is building in Rosarito as “Playa El Bebé” gears up to host the first round of Baja California’s state fishing competition on Sunday, March 30th. Enthusiasts can expect a vibrant turnout, following last year’s successful event which attracted nearly 150 anglers from both the state and Southern California.

This competition is integrated into the official calendar of the Baja California State Fisheries Secretariat (SEPESCA BC) and receives backing from the administration of Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda. The tournament is orchestrated by the Baja California Fishing Clubs Association, spearheaded by the TJ Fishing Club’s Nemesio Salazar Vázquez and Omar Reyes Moreno.

The “El Bebé” tournament is the inaugural event of three selective beach fishing competitions qualifying participants for the State Championship. The day will commence at 5:00 AM with registration, while the fishing officially begins at 7:00 AM. The weigh-in session will conclude at 1:00 PM, but participants lined up by that time will be allowed to compete.

Prizes will be awarded across various categories, including children’s, women’s, mojarra, and other species. Attendees can also look forward to raffles and delicious fare made from local seafood.

Interested individuals can register on the day of the event or pre-register at Pesca del Mar Outdoors in Ensenada or the Fishing Crew Store in La Gloria. For more registration information, costs, rules, and prizes, reach out at 664 493 6014 or 664 339 9173, or email tjfishingclub@gmail.com. Further details are available on the club’s official website.

Victor Hugo Méndez, the head of Sport Fishing at SEPESCA BC, has provided financial backing to support the event’s organization.

Following Rosarito, the subsequent rounds will occur on April 27th at Sunset Beach in Ensenada, hosted by Club Pura Vida, and on July 20th at Playa El Pabellón in San Quintín, organized by Pioleros del Valle de San Quintín. Winners from these events will have the chance to represent Baja California in the National Beach Sport Fishing Championship in Playa Manzanilla, Jalisco, on September 19-20.
