**Ready Your Rods for the “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament in Rosarito This March 30th**
Get your fishing gear ready for the much-anticipated “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament set to happen in Rosarito on Sunday, March 30th. This marks the first round of Baja California’s state fishing series, promising a lively turnout with participants from across the region and Southern California. Last year’s event attracted close to 150 anglers, and this year is expected to draw even more.
Endorsed by Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda’s administration and organized by the Baja California Fishing Clubs Association, the tournament is part of the official calendar of the Secretariat of Fisheries of Baja California (SEPESCA BC). The event is hosted by the TJ Fishing Club, led by Nemesio Salazar Vázquez and Omar Reyes Moreno.
Participants have a chance to qualify for the State Championship through three selective beach fishing tournaments. On the day of the event, registration begins at 5:00 AM, with official fishing lines cast at 7:00 AM. Weigh-in closes at 1:00 PM, ensuring everyone in line by that time can compete. Categories include children’s, women’s, mojarra, and various other species, with prizes and raffles on offer, alongside delicious seafood prepared with local catches.
Those interested in competing can register in person on the day or pre-register at Pesca del Mar Outdoors in Ensenada or Fishing Crew Store in La Gloria. Detailed information about participation can be accessed by calling 664 493 6014 or 664 339 9173 or emailing tjfishingclub@gmail.com. Additional details are available on the tournament’s website.
Victor Hugo Méndez, head of Sport Fishing at SEPESCA BC, has extended financial support to ensure the event’s success. Upcoming tournaments in the series include one on April 27th at Sunset Beach in Ensenada, hosted by Club Pura Vida, and another on July 20th at Playa El Pabellón in San Quintín, organized by Pioleros del Valle de San Quintín. Top anglers will earn the chance to represent Baja California at the VI National Beach Sport Fishing Championship scheduled for September 19-20 in Playa Manzanilla, Jalisco.
**Secondary Article: Baja California Weather Alert**
As the fishing tournament approaches, weather conditions in Baja California may present challenges. Authorities have issued an alert for strong winds, choppy seas, and cooler days in the region. These conditions are expected to impact coastal areas, so participants are advised to take necessary precautions and stay informed about any updates for a safe and enjoyable event.
Keeping these forecasts in mind, participants in the “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament should prepare adequately for the varying weather to ensure both safety and success during the event.
