**Get Ready for the “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament in Rosarito on March 30th**

Rosarito’s picturesque “Playa El Bebé” is set to host the first round of the Baja California state fishing competition this Sunday, March 30th. With expectations for a strong turnout, last year’s event saw nearly 150 anglers from across the state and Southern California.

The competition is part of the official calendar of SEPESCA BC and has the support of the administration of Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda. It is organized by the Baja California Fishing Clubs Association and hosted by the TJ Fishing Club, represented by Nemesio Salazar Vázquez and Omar Reyes Moreno.

This is the first of three selective beach fishing tournaments, which will allow participants to qualify for the State Championship. The event will start with angler registration at 5:00 AM, leading to the official start of fishing at 7:00 AM. Weigh-ins conclude at 1:00 PM, ensuring that those in line by the deadline are still part of the competition.

Participants can look forward to prizes across various categories, including children’s, women’s, mojarra, and other species. Additionally, there will be raffles and culinary offerings featuring local fish.

For those interested in joining the tournament, detailed information about registration, costs, rules, and prizes can be acquired by contacting 664 493 6014 or 664 339 9173, or by emailing tjfishingclub@gmail.com. More details are also available on their website.

To support the event, Victor Hugo Méndez, head of Sport Fishing at SEPESCA BC, has provided financial assistance to cover the event’s organizational expenses.

Competitors can register on the event day or pre-register at Pesca del Mar Outdoors in Ensenada or Fishing Crew Store in La Gloria.

The journey continues with the next two rounds scheduled for April 27th at Sunset Beach in Ensenada, hosted by Club Pura Vida, and July 20th at Playa El Pabellón in San Quintín, organized by Pioleros del Valle de San Quintín. Top performers will have the opportunity to represent Baja California in the VI National Beach Sport Fishing Championship on September 19-20 at Playa Manzanilla, Jalisco.
