**Prepare for the Exciting “El BebĂ©” Fishing Tournament in Rosarito This March 30th**
Get your fishing gear ready because this Sunday, March 30th, Rosarito’s “Playa El BebĂ©” will host the first round of Baja California’s state fishing competition. This annual event is expected to draw a large number of anglers, similar to last year when nearly 150 participants from across the state and Southern California took part.
The event is an integral part of the official calendar of the Baja California Fisheries Secretariat and is backed by the current administration. Organized by the Baja California Fishing Clubs Association, with support from TJ Fishing Club representatives Nemesio Salazar Vázquez and Omar Reyes Moreno, the tournament promises a thrilling competition.
This beach fishing event is the first of three qualifiers for the State Championship. Registrations start at 5:00 AM on the day of the tournament, with fishing starting at 7:00 AM. The weigh-in wraps up at 1:00 PM, but anyone in line by that time will still get a chance to have their catch weighed.
Prizes will be awarded in various categories, including children’s and women’s divisions, as well as for specific species like mojarra. Participants and spectators can also enjoy raffles and local fish delicacies.
For registration details, costs, rules, and prizes, prospective participants can call 664 493 6014 or 664 339 9173, or send an email to tjfishingclub@gmail.com. More information is available on their website. Financial aid provided by Victor Hugo MĂ©ndez, the head of Sport Fishing at the Fisheries Secretariat, has facilitated the event’s logistical arrangements.
Participants can also pre-register at designated locations such as Pesca del Mar Outdoors in Ensenada or Fishing Crew Store in La Gloria.
Looking ahead, the state competition continues on April 27th at Sunset Beach in Ensenada and on July 20th at Playa El PabellĂłn in San QuintĂn. The top anglers from these tournaments will qualify for the VI National Beach Sport Fishing Championship on September 19-20 at Playa Manzanilla, Jalisco.
