### Four State Police Officers Temporarily Removed in Rosarito Amid Complaints

Four officers from the State Police have been temporarily relieved of their duties in Rosarito following two formal complaints about their conduct since the state police took over local security on March 7th. This development comes as Baja California’s Secretary of Citizen Security, Laureano Carrillo Rodríguez, confirmed that one complaint was filed with the State Attorney General’s Office and another with the Internal Control Body of the security department.

“We’ve received reports regarding some state police officers. Currently, two formal cases are under investigation,” stated Carrillo Rodríguez. He also mentioned that accusations circulating on social media are under scrutiny, though no additional formal reports have been submitted.

**Officers Reassigned, No Concrete Evidence Yet**

Carrillo Rodríguez further clarified that the four officers have been reassigned to different roles as a precautionary measure while the Internal Control Body conducts its investigation. “There is no evidence directly linking them to the allegations at this time, but they have been relocated while we further investigate,” he explained.

Since taking over on March 7th, the State Police has replaced the 264 municipal officers in Rosarito, who are subjected to comprehensive vetting processes, including psychological, medical, and toxicology tests, as well as social background checks and polygraph exams. Their firearms are also inspected for serial numbers and codes.

The heightened accountability is seen as a positive step towards enhancing public security in Rosarito and potentially marks the beginning of necessary reforms within the security forces.
