Get Ready for the Exciting “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament in Rosarito This March 30th

On March 30th, the picturesque “Playa El Bebé” in Rosarito will serve as the backdrop for the first installment of Baja California’s state fishing competition. Known for its vibrant fishing culture, the event is expecting a substantial crowd after drawing nearly 150 passionate anglers from the region and Southern California last year.

The tournament is part of the official activities under the Baja California State Program for Fishing and Aquaculture (SEPESCA BC), supported by the governmental initiatives of Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda. It is organized by the Baja California Fishing Clubs Association and this year it will be helmed by the TJ Fishing Club, represented by Nemesio Salazar Vázquez and Omar Reyes Moreno.

This fishing tournament is the first of a three-part qualification series leading up to the State Championship. Participants can register as early as 5 AM, with the competition officially beginning at 7 AM. The weigh-in will conclude at 1 PM, but those already in line will still have their catches considered.

Participants can look forward to a range of prizes in categories such as children’s, women’s, mojarra, and a variety of other fish species. Additionally, there will be opportunities to win through raffles, and enjoy delectable dishes created from local fish.

To register or for more details about the competition, costs, rules, and prizes, interested individuals can call 664 493 6014 or 664 339 9173, email tjfishingclub@gmail.com, or visit their official website.

Victor Hugo Méndez, from SEPESCA BC, has provided financial support to the event organizers to aid in covering the event expenses. For those eager to get a head start, pre-registration is available at Pesca del Mar Outdoors in Ensenada or Fishing Crew Store in La Gloria.

The second round of this exciting series will be held on April 27th at Sunset Beach in Ensenada, hosted by Club Pura Vida, and the third will be on July 20th at Playa El Pabellón in San Quintín by Pioleros del Valle de San Quintín. The most skilled anglers will earn the chance to represent Baja California in the sixth National Beach Sport Fishing Championship, scheduled for September 19-20 at Playa Manzanilla in Jalisco.

### Secondary Article: Strong Winds and Rough Seas Expected in Baja California

As the fishing enthusiasts gear up for the competition in Rosarito, it’s crucial to also be prepared for challenging weather conditions. A recent weather alert for Baja California has been issued, forecasting strong winds and choppy sea conditions that could affect the coastal areas.

The alert advises locals and visitors to exercise caution, especially if planning on engaging in outdoor activities like fishing. Such weather can pose risks to small vessels and make open sea activities more dangerous.

Anglers planning to participate in the “El Bebé” tournament are encouraged to stay informed about the latest weather updates and to take all necessary precautions to ensure safety during the event. For those traveling into the area, being prepared with appropriate sea gear and staying informed about changing conditions can help ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience during the competition.
