Rosarito’s “Playa El Bebé” is all set to host the first round of Baja California’s state fishing competition this upcoming Sunday, March 30th. This exciting event is expected to attract a large number of participants, building on last year’s success, which saw nearly 150 anglers participating from all over the state and Southern California.

The tournament, a key part of the official calendar for SEPESCA BC, is organized in cooperation with the Baja California Fishing Clubs Association and receives support from Governor Marina del Pilar Olmeda’s administration. This year’s event is hosted by TJ Fishing Club, led by Nemesio Salazar Vázquez and Omar Reyes Moreno.

As the first of three selective beach fishing tournaments, this competition will help qualify participants for the State Championship. The day begins early at 5:00 AM with registration, while the fishing officially starts at 7:00 AM. The weigh-in session will conclude at 1:00 PM, and participants who are in line by that time will still have a chance to compete.

Awards will be presented in various categories, including children’s, women’s, mojarra, alongside other species. Additionally, there will be raffles and a chance to enjoy food crafted from local fish.

For those eager to participate, registration details, costs, rules, and prize information can be obtained by calling 664 493 6014 or 664 339 9173, or emailing tjfishingclub@gmail.com. Further details are also available on their website.
