**Tijuana, September 30, 2024** – At noon on Monday, September 30, Juan Carlos Carranza was fatally shot following an armed attack near Colonia Postal in Tijuana. Authorities confirmed that three suspects were apprehended in connection with the crime.

According to local sources, gunfire was reported at approximately 12:31 PM on Mizar and Defensores de Baja California streets, where the victim was found injured. Municipal agents and Red Cross paramedics arrived promptly and discovered an unconscious man with multiple injuries beside a 2016 Hyundai Elantra and a maroon Nissan Rogue. Unfortunately, he showed no signs of life.

Investigators on the scene recovered seven 9mm casings and three .223-caliber casings.

Witnesses indicated that three male suspects fled in a wagon-type vehicle. A swift police operation led to the discovery of a matching vehicle near the Calimax supermarket on Boulevard Cuauhtémoc and Avenue Paseo de los Héroes. The suspects abandoned the vehicle and attempted to escape on foot but were quickly apprehended.

A subsequent search of the gray Chrysler wagon revealed a .223-caliber rifle and two handguns on one of the front seats. The suspects were identified as Jesús Anguiano, Jesús Alfredo Alvarado, and Luis Giovanni Gutiérrez. During questioning, they claimed to work for an individual nicknamed “El Flaquito,” though they did not disclose any gang affiliation.
