**CFE Restores Full Power Supply in Baja California After Santa Ana Winds Disrupt Services**

After severe disruptions caused by the Santa Ana winds, the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) has successfully restored electricity services to all affected areas in Baja California. The strong winds, which led to the collapse of power poles and downed cables, left 204,323 users in Tijuana, Rosarito, and Tecate without power. In response, CFE deployed teams and equipment to strategic locations to address the outages.

CFE reported that 100% of affected users have had their power restored. Impressively, 65% of the impacted households had their electricity back within three hours, and 89% within nine hours. The outages were primarily caused by falling tree branches, billboards, and other debris that tangled with the power lines.

To manage the situation, CFE’s Director General, Emilia Calleja Alor, ordered the deployment of 72 electricians, along with 18 cranes and 30 light vehicles, to expedite the repair processes. The crew will remain in the region to conduct permanent repairs and reinforce the electrical infrastructure as well as attend to any new reports of outages.

While most areas have regained power, some places, like Santa Fe, still report power issues. CFE encourages such residents to report outages by dialing 071, so that dedicated crews can address these lingering issues effectively.

The Santa Ana winds, which started on the night of December 9th and peaked the next day, ranged from 50 to 75 kilometers per hour. These winds are expected to decrease in intensity by Wednesday morning. In total, the Santa Ana condition left approximately 36 neighborhoods in Tijuana and over 14 in Rosarito without power, alongside other incidents like blocked roads in Lomas Altas I due to fallen poles.

**Secondary Update: Continued Extreme Weather Impacting Baja California**

Following the recent recovery from the Santa Ana winds, Baja California braces for more extreme weather conditions. Weather forecasts predict that the region might experience further high winds and potentially heavy rain, which could pose risks to the already vulnerable infrastructure.

Local authorities and utility services are on high alert, with additional personnel and resources being readied to respond to potential emergencies. Residents are advised to secure loose objects around their homes and stay updated with weather alerts. Prolonged exposure to such severe weather could lead to more outages and disruptions, necessitating ongoing preventive measures and swift responses to maintain power stability across the region.

Community members are encouraged to conserve energy where possible and report any power line damage promptly to assist in efficient restoration efforts. As natural phenomena increasingly impact infrastructure reliability, collaboration between government agencies and the public becomes crucial for resilience and safety.
