**Man Held in Custody After Taking Jennifer Fernanda to Puebla**
A man identified as Óscar Avelino N. is currently being held in preventive custody following a court hearing where he faced charges related to the disappearance of a young girl, Jennifer Fernanda Camacho Osobampo. The hearing took place on February 16, a few days after his arrest on February 12. He was accused of manipulating the teenager and taking her from Tijuana, Baja California, to Puebla.
The search for Jennifer Fernanda began on January 29, when she was last seen in the 3 de Octubre neighborhood of Tijuana. Authorities quickly activated an Amber Alert to assist in locating the minor. Her family shared the manipulation tactics used, including messages where he claimed to always be there for her.
Óscar Avelino was later brought back to Tijuana along with Jennifer on a Volaris flight, where he tried to conceal his handcuffs with a white t-shirt. He was subsequently taken to La Mesa Penitentiary. During the court hearing, the judge ordered preventive detention based on evidence presented by the prosecutor.
Under case number 0817/2025, Óscar Avelino faces charges including forced disappearance, with a possible sentence of up to 30 years, and pederasty, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years. A follow-up hearing is set for February 22 to determine further legal proceedings.
