The Autonomous University of Baja California Sur (UABCS) has implemented heightened security measures following several alarming threats of a potential shooting incident. The threats, discovered in various campus restrooms, suggested an attack planned for Monday, February 17.
One of the unsettling messages stated, “On this Monday, February 17, I will bring my weapon to UABCS and shoot all those who bothered me.” Beside this, another message read, “No one will stop me; I have suffered bullying.”
Additionally, another ominous warning was found on a door at the La Paz campus, where a sheet of paper with taped bullets declared, “These bullets already have names.”
In response, state and municipal public security forces launched a comprehensive operation, deploying officers throughout the university grounds. The initiative also included drone surveillance and involvement from the Cyber Police.
