## Prosecutors Seek 122-Year Sentence for Alleged Murderer of Paola Andrea
The State Prosecutor’s Office of Baja California has formally requested a 122-year prison sentence for Sergio Daniel “N”, the suspected murderer of Paola Andrea Bañuelos, who was tragically killed in July 2024. According to Maria Elena Andrade Ramirez, the state’s Attorney General, the judicial process is currently in the accusation phase with the proposed sentence already submitted.
“We’re in the accusation phase that we’ve been updating the public on. The prosecutor’s office has submitted a request for over 100 years, specifically asking for 122 years in the accusation document,” Andrade Ramirez stated. She emphasized confidence in the strength of the evidence collected, which she believes will ensure justice in this shocking case that has deeply affected Baja California’s capital city.
### The Tragic Case of Paola Andrea
On the early morning of July 8, 2024, after spending the night at the nightclub “La Consentida” in Mexicali, Paola Andrea opted to take a platform-based taxi service to return home. Unfortunately, this decision marked the last time she was seen alive. Sergio Daniel was responsible for driving her home, but the young woman, aged just 23, never reached her destination and her life was tragically taken.
Paola Andrea’s body was found on July 11th after an extensive search, discovered in a deserted area between the Islas Agrarias A and B communities. Subsequently, law enforcement launched a manhunt for Sergio Daniel, who eventually surrendered in Ciudad Obregón, Sonora. He was then transported to Baja California’s capital to face legal proceedings.
