The Tijuana Zonkeys have announced their coaching lineup for the upcoming 2025 season of the Mexican Basketball League, CIBACOPA, which is set to kick off on March 7.

Rafael Carrillo, president of the Zonkeys, expressed confidence in the team’s aspirations: “As I’ve mentioned for the past 14 years, our goal remains to become champions. Last year, we were close but didn’t quite make it. I’m optimistic that this year will be different, primarily because of our technical team starting with our coach.”

Leading the technical team is Argentine Esteban Gatti, previously with the Soles de Mexicali. “I’ve been coaching since I was 24, which makes it 15 years now. I’m thrilled to be here due to the commitment, responsibility, and respect the organization holds for the sport. Coupled with our desire to win, we’ll be working very responsibly to make it happen,” Gatti stated.

Supporting Gatti, the coaching staff includes Pavel Arreola as the second assistant, Carlos Rincón as the team doctor, Daniel Nicasio in charge of physical preparation, and physiotherapists Luis Rodríguez and Juan Hernández, along with Daniel Martínez and Omar Campos.

The Zonkeys will host their inaugural series at the Arena Zonkeys on March 14 and 15, facing off against the Venados of Mazatlán. Both games are scheduled to start at 7:00 PM, with tickets available at the arena box office.
