**Strength, Kindness, and Perseverance: A Wine in Memory of Monsignor Cisneros**
To honor the legacy of Monsignor Salvador Cisneros, the Salvatoris Magister Vitae wine has been crafted by Casa Magoni. This blend, which combines Nebbiolo, Grenache, and Tannat grapes, has been released to support the Diocesan Seminary of Tijuana, an institution led by Monsignor Cisneros for 19 years. He passed away on May 20, 2024, following a 53-year tenure with the Archdiocese of Tijuana. The wine’s label showcases a landscape by Zacatecan artist Juan Ángel Castillo featuring a bell tower surrounded by vineyards at sunset.
During the wine’s unveiling, Archbishop Francisco Moreno Barrón of Tijuana expressed, “May he live among us. Let this toast seal a commitment of love to keep him alive in our hearts and minds. Thank you, Monsignor Chavo, for the legacy in our Archdiocese and Seminary, for your friendship, you remain with us.”
Limited to a production of 1,000 bottles, each priced at 500 pesos, the wine quickly saw 60% of its stock sold within the first few hours. It is available at the Diocesan Seminary of Tijuana in Cerro Colorado and the Diocesan House on Tijuana’s downtown street ten.
Enologist and collaborator Camilo Magoni sought to infuse the wine with a personality mirroring Monsignor Cisneros through terms like “strength, kindness, and perseverance.” Magoni, reflecting on his time with Monsignor, stated, “He contributed greatly to diocesan and Catholic activities in Tijuana. His presence is felt in the generations of priests he helped mold.”
Archbishop Moreno added, “The Seminary continues to nurture new vocations, enriched by the dynamic spirit of leaders like Monsignor Cisneros.”
