### Film and Wine Festival in Valle de Guadalupe

From September 20th to September 22nd, the Valle de Guadalupe will merge with the world of cinema to present the first edition of its film festival. This event will feature movies with culinary themes, discussions with renowned filmmakers, workshops, and exhibitions from various wineries.

Ava Ordorica, the Deputy Secretary of Cultural Development from the Secretariat of Culture of Baja California, expressed her excitement about the festival, highlighting it as “a celebration of Baja Californian talents who have given us great moments in cinema, aiming to become a landmark event for our state.”

Organized by the Alberich Foundation, My Orange, and the state government, the festival’s main venues include the Museum of Vine and Wine, Vinya Abril, Barón Balché, La Reina, and the Casa Kurrak community center.

The inauguration ceremony will honor filmmaker Alfonso Arau, followed by a discussion led by film critic Ernesto Diezmartínez titled “The Cinema of Alfonso Arau.” Additionally, artist Julio Orozco will present an exhibition entitled “Halls of the Past, Projections of the Future.”

Film screenings include “Kumeyaay Land” by Dylan Verrechia, “Sideways” directed by Alexander Payne, “Like Water for Chocolate” by Alfonso Arau, “Bottle Shock” by Randall Miller, and “Back to Burgundy” directed by Cédric Klapisch, among other films and documentaries.

The program also features a discussion with María Novaro on “30 Years of The Garden of Eden,” presented by Carlos Fabián Sarabia.
