**UTT Students Excel in National Solar Vehicle Challenge**

In a remarkable achievement, nine dedicated engineering students from the Technological University of Tijuana (UTT) brought home five distinct accolades at the Chihuahua Solar Challenge 2024. Their innovative creation, the solar vehicle Cuervo 4.0, stood out for both its design and functionality, fulfilling the academic and personal objectives they set over a year ago when development began on the prototype.

The competition, held at the Technological University of Ciudad Juárez from November 22 to 24, featured multiple phases, including vehicle presentations which earned UTT the prestigious best design award. The Cuervo 4.0 also topped the braking test, took second place in technical performance, and secured third place in both the timed race and the maneuverability test.

The rector of UTT, Mtro. Salvador Morales Riubí, expressed immense pride in these accomplishments, highlighting the talent, creativity, and innovative spirit nurtured within UTT’s specialized labs. He praised the students’ perseverance and hard work, noting that their efforts reflect the extraordinary educational quality at UTT.

Morales Riubí also acknowledged the vital support from faculty members in Mechatronics and Renewable Energies departments, who provided invaluable guidance from the project’s inception. Additionally, he extended gratitude to donors and sponsors who believed in and supported the students’ vision and potential.

Looking forward, Morales Riubí assured that UTT will continue to motivate and guide future generations in solar vehicle development, a field in which UTT and Baja California have already been recognized with 11 awards since 2016.
