The University Rosario Castellanos is set to undergo a major transformation with rehabilitation and construction projects planned for its facilities in Tijuana. This initiative, expected to last at least four months, will require an investment of up to 80 million pesos. Arturo Espinoza Jaramillo, head of the Infrastructure, Urban Development, and Territorial Reorganization secretariat, shared that the Federal Government will be handling the project execution. Meanwhile, the state administration will contribute a comprehensive study to ensure the project’s success.
Espinoza Jaramillo pointed out that out of the three buildings initially intended for the Judiciary City, the one that formerly belonged to the Judicial Power is in the best condition. This particular building will be the focus of the initial phase of the educational institution’s development. While it has undergone some rehabilitation, additional work is needed in certain areas that have settled, potentially due to water leakage.
The state government had previously conducted a soil rehabilitation study, requiring an additional seven million pesos to fortify the infrastructure. Espinoza Jaramillo mentioned that the requirements for reinforcing buildings in educational and medical facilities are usually more stringent due to higher construction codes compared to standard buildings.
