### UABC Rector Denies Ban on Protests Against Judicial Reform

**Tijuana, Mexico** – The rector of the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC), Luis Enrique Palafox Maestre, has firmly denied allegations that the institution prohibited students from organizing protests against the recent judicial reform. In a statement, Palafox Maestre affirmed that students at the university freely expressed their opinions, irrespective of their stance on the constitutional amendment.

“We have consistently supported the right to free expression within the university,” Palafox Maestre said. “We welcome and applaud that students voice their opinions, whether in favor or against the reform. This is a fundamental right of university students.”

Palafox Maestre further dismissed any claims that the university had issued directives to avoid discussing the topic on campus or barred the use of attire or signs with slogans opposing the judicial reform.

“There has been no censorship of such manifestations. The university has promoted free expression, and this has been the case across every campus, ensuring a safe space for students,” he reiterated.
