**UABC Organizes Health and Services Fair in Tecate**
The Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC) is extending an invitation to the residents of Tecate to participate in a free Health and Services Fair. This event, organized by the UABC’s Coordination of Culture and Science Extension, will take place on Saturday, October 26 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Manuel Márquez de León State Elementary School, located in Lomas Santa Bárbara.
The initiative aims to support the development and transformation of Baja California by offering free medical, legal, and psychological services. Additionally, the program promotes physical activity, health care, and preventive measures to enhance the wellbeing of the community.
Residents attending the health fair can benefit from various services including dental care, such as tooth extractions, cleanings, and plaque detection. There will also be workshops on psychological first aid, emotional awareness, and nutrition talks. General medical consultations and clinical lab tests will also be available. Pets are not left out, with veterinary services on offer.
On Friday, October 25, clinical samples will be collected from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM at the same location where the fair is held. Additionally, sample collection will continue on the day of the fair from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM. Participants interested in the clinical tests are advised to fast for eight hours prior to the tests.
Since the tenure of the UABC’s current rector, Dr. Luis Enrique Palafox Maestre, six similar community interventions have been conducted in areas including Ensenada, Rosarito, San Quintín, Tijuana, and Mexicali. The upcoming event seeks to attract residents of Lomas Santa Bárbara, encouraging them to utilize the services made available by UABC.
