UABC Honored at FILEY 2026

The University Autonomous of Baja California (UABC) has been announced as the Guest of Honor at the 2026 Yucatán International Book Fair (FILEY). The announcement was made by Carlos Alberto Estrada Pinto, Rector of the Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán (UADY) and President of FILEY, during the closing ceremony of FILEY 2025.

“With great excitement, we conclude this edition of the Yucatán International Book Fair, confident that FILEY will continue to grow and establish itself as a national and international reference point,” Estrada Pinto stated. “We invite you all to join us next year, where the University Autonomous of Baja California will be our special guest,” he added.

The 2025 edition, held from March 22 to March 30 at the Siglo XXI Convention and Exhibition Center in Mérida, had the University of Veracruz as the Guest of Honor. Since its inception in 2012, FILEY has been organized annually by UADY and celebrates its 14th edition in 2026.

Reflecting on the success of FILEY 2025, Estrada Pinto expressed gratitude to everyone involved, highlighting the vital role of volunteers and cultural partners. “Our efforts to promote access to culture and creativity must never stop,” he affirmed.
