On the morning of Monday, September 23, 2024, a 16-year-old teenager was tragically shot and killed in the Sánchez Taboada neighborhood of Tijuana. According to local reports, the incident occurred around 11:55 AM near the intersection of Sánchez Taboada Avenue and Orbita Street, just in front of the El Barrilito grocery store.

Police officers from the Municipal Police Department and paramedics from the Red Cross promptly arrived on the scene. They discovered the teenager lying on the street with a gunshot wound to the head. Despite their efforts, the paramedics declared that the young victim showed no signs of life.

The victim, still unidentified at the time of the report, was wearing a maroon shirt, gray sports pants, and sandals. Witnesses at the scene recounted that the teen had a confrontation with an armed man. In an attempt to disarm the assailant, the victim was shot in the head, after which the perpetrator fled the scene.

In a separate violent incident, a man’s body, around 30 years of age, was found in the trunk of a purple vehicle. The abandoned car was located on Escobedo Street and M Avenue in the Castillo neighborhood. The body showed signs of violence and was accompanied by a narco message, although the content of the message remains undisclosed.
