### Toros Knocked Out of Playoffs
The 2024 season for the Toros de Tijuana has come to an end after falling to the Algodoneros de Unión Laguna in the first postseason series of the Mexican Baseball League (LMB) at the Chevron Stadium. The border team lost the series in five games and missed the opportunity to advance as the best of the eliminated teams. Meanwhile, the Algodoneros advanced to the second round of the postseason in the Northern Zone.
In the Northern Zone, the Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos will face the Algodoneros de Unión Laguna, and the Sultanes de Monterrey will compete against the Acereros de Monclova. In the Southern Zone, Diablos Rojos will face the “best loser,” and Conspiradores de Querétaro will challenge the winner of the series between the Leones de Yucatán and Guerreros de Oaxaca.
### Tijuana Hosts State Stage of the Paranacionals Conade 2024
Detailed evaluations were conducted to diagnose the type and degree of visual impairments among Paralympic athletes from Baja California. The assessments, led by ophthalmologist Olga Martínez Vargas representing the Mexican Paralympic Committee (Copame) and in coordination with the State Institute of Sport and Physical Culture (INDE), took place in the Sports Medicine area of the High Performance Center in Tijuana.
Numerous patients attended to understand their level of visual deficiency and the treatments needed to maintain their health before, during, and after their sports competitions. This weekend, Tijuana will host the state stage of the Paranacionals Conade 2024, making it essential to establish clearly the type and degree of visual disability among competitors. There are three levels considered: B1 (totally or almost totally blind individuals), B2 (partially sighted individuals who can recognize the form of a hand or have a visual acuity of 2/60 or a visual field of less than 5 degrees), and B3 (partially sighted individuals with a visual acuity of 2/60 to 6/60 or a visual field between 5 and 20 degrees).
Baja California competes in disciplines for visually impaired individuals, such as Goalball, the only Paralympic sport specifically created for those who are blind or visually impaired.
