**Wellness Day Celebrated at Salvatierra Sports Complex**
Tijuana – The city of Tijuana hosted its fourth Wellness Day at the Salvatierra Sports Complex on Saturday, offering a wide range of support services to the community. Led by Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz, the event was structured to deliver essential services including food pantry distribution, legal and psychological counseling, medical consultations, and medication supply. This initiative reflects the local administration’s philosophy of “Tijuana, Responsibility of Everyone,” aiming to meet the community’s needs through collaborative efforts.
The Mayor emphasized the importance of engaging with the community, stating, “It is through the concerted efforts of all the authorities here that we can effectively address your needs. The people lead, and we follow.” He further announced his commitment to town hall-style meetings every Wednesday at 8 a.m. across municipal delegations to provide direct attention to citizens.
During the event, the Mayor discussed the 2025 budget approval, highlighting plans to address infrastructure issues like pothole repairs and street paving. The city plans to invest in public amenities, including the installation of new street lights and expanded support for sports, arts, and culture. He expressed gratitude for federal and state-level support and underscored the impact of teamwork.
Secretary of Welfare, Erik Morales Elvira, echoed the commitment to community support, noting that paramunicipal modules from various government agencies, including the Municipal Women’s Institute and DIF, were available at the event. Among the services offered were legal and psychological counseling, food pantry distribution, medical consultations, and medications.
