In recent developments, Tijuana has witnessed a disturbing sequence of violent incidents, resulting in multiple homicides.

Late last night, around 8:00 PM on August 3, 2024, authorities discovered an abandoned vehicle emitting a foul odor near the El Soler roundabout in Playas de Tijuana. The SUV, a gray KIA Sorento with its engine still running and the trunk open, contained black bags filled with the corpses of two women. One woman was estimated to be between 40 and 45 years old, while the age of the other victim could not be determined due to the condition of the body. Additionally, the remains of a man, all showing signs of violence, were found in the bags.

Earlier that afternoon, at approximately 3:34 PM, a 37-year-old woman was found deceased with a gunshot wound to the chest near a pathway in the arroyo area of the Presidentes neighborhood in the Cerro Colorado district.

In an unrelated incident in Playas de Tijuana, a man was executed, and another individual was injured. The deceased man, wearing a red short-sleeved shirt and blue jeans, has yet to be identified. The injured man, aged 43, was transported to a hospital for treatment.

Around the same time, another man’s body was discovered on the sidewalk of Calle Universo in the Sánchez Taboada neighborhood. The scene also revealed a white sack with protruding human legs, alongside a human-shaped bundle.

Additionally, another fatality was reported in the El Tecolote neighborhood, where a man estimated to be between 30 and 35 years old was found murdered on a dirt road on Calle Francisco Quevedo.

Further reports indicated the body of a man with stab wounds was found on Calle Amapolas in the Jardines de la Mesa neighborhood of the Los Pinos district. The victim’s age and identity remain unknown.

Earlier in the day in the city’s eastern region, a 35-year-old man was shot dead at the intersection of Calle Culiacán and Calle Copilco in the Mariano Matamoros Sur neighborhood of the Florido-Mariano district.

Lastly, two men were found dead in the Xochipilli Park in the Zona Centro. One victim, around 35 years old, had gunshot and stab wounds. The second victim, aged between 40 and 45, was found approximately 30 meters away under a bridge with multiple injuries.

These incidents highlight an alarming surge in violence across various neighborhoods in Tijuana. Authorities continue to investigate these cases, seeking to uncover the motives and identities behind these tragic events.
