### Bloody Friday in Tijuana: Nine Bodies and Human Remains Found

Tijuana experienced a violent Friday on August 9, 2024, as authorities discovered at least 11 bodies scattered across different parts of the city. Some of the bodies bore gunshot wounds while others were in advanced stages of decomposition.

The first body was discovered at 7:47 a.m. on Friday near a drainage channel by the Tecate-Tijuana free road. The deceased, believed to be a man between 35 and 40 years old, was wrapped in a purple blanket, but his identity remains unknown.

Later that afternoon, at 4:44 p.m., three sets of human remains and an incomplete body were found in the Sanchez Taboada neighborhood. A human head, appearing to belong to a male between 25 and 30 years old, alongside two lower limbs, were found inside a black plastic bag. Around 300 meters away, a white tarp wrapped around an incomplete male body missing its head, upper, and lower limbs was also found.

Another unidentified male body, aged between 30 and 35, was discovered at 6:52 p.m. on the sidewalk of San Abraham Street in the San Angel area of Playas de Tijuana. The body had multiple injuries resembling gunshot wounds.

At 8:10 p.m., yet another body was found in the San Antonio de los Buenos neighborhood on Enciso Street. The victim, believed to be between 55 and 60 years old, bore gunshot wounds similar to the previous findings.

Almost immediately, at 8:11 p.m., two more bodies were located on Santiago Altamira Street in the Altamira neighborhood. The first victim, estimated to be between 35 and 40 years old, had gunshot wounds to the chest and right arm, while the second victim, aged between 50 and 55, had a tourniquet around his neck and gunshot wounds to the front of his body. Both remain unidentified.

At 10:35 p.m., a human head was found at the Las Brisas pedestrian bridge on Blvd. Federico Benitez. The head, estimated to belong to a male aged 40 to 45, was inside an opened maroon backpack, wrapped in a white plastic bag containing a red and white sweatshirt.

Finally, at 11:57 p.m., the bodies of three men were discovered inside the trunk of a gray KIA sedan in the Montes de los Olivos slope, near the Cespt water treatment plant in the Imaq neighborhood. Preliminary data suggest the victims were aged between 35 and 50 years, but none have been identified.

This latest surge in violence underscores the ongoing security challenges facing Tijuana, as authorities continue their investigations into these gruesome discoveries.
