The tragic incident occurred at the intersection of Margarito Araiza Street and Juan Barbosa Alley.

Municipal authorities, who were the first to respond to the scene, stated that the son used a knife to slit his mother’s throat. This incident adds to a disturbing pattern of similar events in the area.

On September 16, 2023, a 34-year-old man named Gabriel “N” killed his 68-year-old father, Humberto “N,” while under the influence of alcohol in the Tres de Octubre neighborhood. According to the official report, the mother and wife of the involved parties testified that Gabriel and his father had been drinking at home. A heated argument turned physical, leading Gabriel to stab his father in the stomach.

Just days before this, on September 9, a fire broke out in a home in the Azteca neighborhood. Magín de Jesús Gutiérrez Morales, 30, who was also reportedly under the influence of drugs, started the fire. He claimed to have seen ghosts in his room and attempted to burn them. The fire resulted in the deaths of his 69-year-old father, Edmidio Gutiérrez Ramírez; 46-year-old renter, Hortensia Gómez López; and ultimately, his 64-year-old mother, Marilú Morales Gamboa, who succumbed to her injuries four days later in the IMSS Clinic #1 due to septic shock from her burns.
