### Tragic Incident in Tijuana: Driver and Young Man Found Dead
In a somber incident, a driver and a young man were shot and killed on the night of October 19, 2024, in Lomas Taurinas, a neighborhood in Tijuana. The authorities report that the incident occurred around 7:57 p.m. as a vehicle was making a routine journey down Avenida Torrecillas when gunshots were heard.
Upon arriving at the scene, responders discovered a 19-year-old male, dressed in a red jacket, jeans, and black sneakers, lying face down with a gunshot wound to the head. Nearby, a red Toyota Corolla was found with bullet impacts. Inside the car was a 48-year-old male, dressed in a blue and white polo shirt and jeans, presumed to be an Uber driver, deceased from gunshot wounds.
Six ballistic indicators were retrieved from the scene; however, no surveillance footage or eyewitnesses have been identified to shed further light on the events.
In related news, earlier on the same day, human remains were found in the Los Potros neighborhood, specifically a skull and jaw, both in advanced stages of decomposition. Later, around 5:12 p.m., the body of a roughly 40-year-old man with gunshot-like injuries in his left shoulder was found in Francisco Zarco. Another man, around the same age, was discovered deceased with signs of violence on Calle 34 de abril in La Remosa at 6:09 p.m.

Alongside the tragic events in Lomas Taurinas, Tijuana has been grappling with a rise in violent incidents. On October 18, 2024, a businessman, Omar Guido, was found dead on Avenida Revolución. Additionally, ongoing searches in Lomas Taurinas have led to the discovery of three bodies in a clandestine grave.
The public authorities are calling for heightened vigilance and collaborative efforts to tackle the rising crime rates. Just a few days prior, a man was arrested with what appeared to be cocaine in Tijuana, although there was a dispute over the amount seized.
