### Upcoming Connection Works for Rosario Salado Subcollector on Bernardo O’Higgins Blvd
**Tijuana** – The State Commission of Public Services of Tijuana (CESPT) has announced the commencement of connection works for the Rosario Salado subcollector on Monday, August 19th. These works, located on Bernardo O’Higgins Avenue, also known as Benton, will necessitate partial traffic adjustments.
The works will impact the boulevards’ intersection from Federico Benítez to Díaz Ordaz from August 19th to 22nd, between 19:00 and 07:00 hours daily to minimize disruption to traffic flow. According to CESPT General Director Jesús García Castro, a complete closure of the road will be avoided. Instead, traffic will be directed through a single lane in both directions. Alternative routes such as San Antonio and Santa Elena streets are recommended for drivers heading from Bernardo O’Higgins to Federico Benítez, while Duraznos Street is suggested for those traveling from Díaz Ordaz to Federico Benítez.
The connection works will use directional drilling, a technique aimed at minimizing the impact on these heavily trafficked roads. The project, which began in February, involves replacing 330 meters of 18-inch PVC sanitary piping, an additional 200 meters of parallel 15-inch line, constructing four new manhole covers, and restoring the asphalt covering. This extensive rehabilitation effort is crucial as it will improve efficiency and prolong the lifespan of the wastewater collection system, thereby addressing frequent wastewater spills.
García Castro assured that updates on the project’s progress will be continuously provided so that the community can plan their commutes effectively during the construction period. He expressed gratitude for the public’s understanding and urged drivers to proceed with caution in the affected area.
