In recent months, Tijuana has witnessed an alarming increase in gun violence. In a separate yet related incident last week, a man was shot outside a popular shopping center in the Zona Río area. The brazen daytime attack left the community in shock and raised concerns among local authorities about escalating crime rates.

Police departments in Tijuana have been intensifying their efforts to curb violence, but incidents like the Gabilondo and Zona Río shootings highlight the persistent challenges they face. Mayor Montserrat Caballero has called for increased cooperation between federal and local law enforcement agencies to address this concerning trend and ensure the safety of residents.

Community leaders are also advocating for more preventative measures, including better street lighting and increased neighborhood patrols to deter potential crimes.
