### Vehicle with Threats Against Tijuana’s Secretary of Government Had Been Reported Stolen in the US

An abandoned vehicle containing a decapitated body and a message of threats against Miguel Ángel Bujanda Ruiz, the recent former Secretary of Government of Tijuana, was discovered with a record of theft in the United States. This was confirmed by Miguel Ángel Gaxiola Rodríguez, the specialized homicide prosecutor from the Baja California State Attorney General’s Office (FGE).

The gruesome discovery was made on Saturday, August 10th, in the Sánchez Taboada neighborhood. The body, which has not yet been identified due to the severe mutilation, and the threatening message were found inside a compact car. The prosecutor mentioned that they are coordinating with U.S. authorities to identify the body using fingerprint analysis.

In response to the threats, Bujanda Ruiz resigned from his position, as announced by Tijuana’s Mayor, Montserrat Caballero Ramírez. Despite the serious nature of the threats, Bujanda Ruiz has not requested additional protection, relying instead on the custody provided by municipal police officers.

During a statement given at the prosecutor’s office on Tuesday, Bujanda Ruiz was treated as a victim of the threats. Although he has resigned, he continues to cooperate with the investigation.

Additionally, video footage obtained by the authorities shows several young individuals abandoning the vehicle. These images are now a part of the ongoing investigation to identify and locate those responsible.
