## Man Killed After Release from Tijuana Prison for Drug Possession

In a tragic event, Jesús Alberto Vega Beltrán, 39 years old, was murdered just two hours after being released from the Social Reinsertion Center (Cereso) in Tijuana. According to Baja California’s security authorities, the incident occurred on the evening of September 20th at approximately 11:20 PM in the Villa Fontana area.

Police reports state that Vega Beltrán was gunned down while opening the gates of his home on Lariza and Cosenza streets. Eyewitnesses revealed that armed assailants fired more than 20 rounds of .223 caliber ammunition to take his life. He had a past criminal record related to drug possession.

The attackers, who managed to flee the scene before any arrests could be made, were reportedly driving a 2012 Audi. The assailant in the passenger seat exited the vehicle to commit the attack before escaping.
