Tijuana clinics notify clients of temporary suspension of medical pass service amid municipal government transition. Plan ahead for delays in border crossing until system is restored.

**Temporary Suspension of Medical Pass Service: Tijuana Clinics Notify Clients**

In Tijuana, private health clinics have informed their clients of a temporary suspension of the medical pass service, pending the reestablishment of the system by the new municipal government. These medical passes facilitate faster border crossing into the United States via a special lane for users of medical services who visit Tijuana.

Through social media, some clinics, including a dental clinic, have urged clients to plan accordingly and anticipate possible delays until the system is back online. This temporary halt is attributed to the governmental transition currently in progress.

Pedro Montejo Peterson, the head of the Tijuana Economic Development Secretariat (Sedeti), has revealed that the department is reviewing companies with access to the medical pass acquisition platform. The aim is to remove those without proper documentation. Recently, more than 150 users, including civic associations, business chambers, and medical clusters, have regained access to the system in a move to enhance transparency and reduce corruption. Furthermore, about 20% of the health companies registered in the system can now acquire these passes again.

**Additional News: Future Considerations for Tijuana Border**

The future of fees for foreigners at the Tijuana border crossing might be decided in December by the National Immigration Institute (INM). There’s also an ongoing effort to streamline information for tourists regarding the payment process to enter Mexico, as suggested by the local tourism committee, Cotuco.

Separately, starting October 17, regularization efforts in the Maclovio Rojas community will commence under the state government’s guidance. There are also discussions regarding extending the deadline for the importation of used vehicles due to many being stuck in neighboring countries.

New payment cards for the Agua Caliente Corridor in Tijuana will soon be available at select convenience stores, offering a more straightforward prepaid option for public transportation across the city.

Lastly, the exchange rate landscape in Tijuana continues to evolve, with local financial institutions actively updating buying and selling rates for the US dollar amidst these changes.
