Ismael Burgueño Ruíz, the newly elected mayor of Tijuana, has announced that none of the current officials from the 24th Tijuana Municipality will retain their positions in the forthcoming administration. Burgueño emphasized his commitment to bringing in a fresh team to deliver results during his tenure.

“I will come in with my own team. No one from the current administration will be reappointed,” Burgueño stated when asked about the possibility of inviting the current mayor, Montserrat Caballero Ramírez, to serve in his administration.

Burgueño plans to introduce his cabinet members during the second week of September after the transitional process is completed. “We will reveal and present the new cabinet members all at once,” he commented. He acknowledged that some secretarial positions remain unassigned but expressed confidence in finding capable candidates to lead these departments.

When questioned about the potential influence of Baja California’s governor, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, on municipal appointments, Burgueño reassured that the governor has always respected municipal autonomy, stating, “We have complete autonomy in our decision-making.”
