A man, identified as Eduardo Didier “N”, 22, was apprehended by Tijuana municipal police officers following an alleged violent carjacking of a woman in the Pedregal de Santa Julia area.

Upon receiving reports of the incident, patrolling officers noticed a vehicle matching the description of the stolen car. When they attempted to approach, the driver sped off towards Boulevard Rosario in Santa Fe, leading to a high-speed chase.

In Santa Fe, Eduardo Didier “N” abandoned the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. Officers quickly caught up and arrested him, discovering a loaded 9 mm pistol with five rounds during the search.

The suspect was handed over to the State Attorney General’s Office, facing charges of violent vehicle theft and possession of a firearm.

According to data from the state’s Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection, Tijuana recorded 4,233 vehicle thefts from January to August 2024. Out of these, 562 involved violence, while 3,671 were non-violent.
