**Tijuana Karate Practitioners Excel in International Tournament**

The students of the Kyodai Kai Otay Karate School in Tijuana, led by Sensei Juan Carlos Andrade, recently competed in the 51st edition of the International Black Belt Team Competition held in Los Angeles, California. This prestigious event saw participation from karate practitioners across several countries including Mexico, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Peru, and the host country, the United States.

The competitors from Kyodai Kai Otay returned with impressive results across various categories. Notable winners include Nicolas Sierra, who secured first place in Kumite, and Rodolfo González, who also achieved first place in Kata. Maximiliano Coutiño claimed second place in Kumite, while Cesar Coutiño earned second places in both Kata and Kumite. Ivanna Del Castillo finished in third place in both Kata and Kumite.

“This event has a rich tradition in the Los Angeles and California region, attracting high-level competitors. We participated with five students on this occasion. For our students, this tournament serves as a form of preseason to help them fine-tune their skills for upcoming national competitions,” commented Sensei Juan Carlos Andrade.

After their successful participation in this international event, the Kyodai Kai Otay Karate School plans to return to Mexico for further preparations. “We have a tournament in San Luis Rio Colorado in October, the Copa Sonora, where we have secured victory for three consecutive years. We are aiming for our fourth win,” concluded Andrade.
