### Security Measures and Breathalyzers to be Implemented During Independence Day Celebrations: SSPCM

As Tijuana gears up for the 15th of September celebrations, commemorating Mexico’s Independence Day, the Municipal Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPCM) has announced comprehensive security measures. Fernando Sánchez González, the head of SSPCM, shared details about the plan, which includes police presence and monitoring via breathalyzers throughout various parts of the city, including Zona Río, the city center, and the vicinity of the Tijuana Fair.

“Mass gatherings always require heightened vigilance. The Independence Day celebrations bring together a significant number of people, and we are ready with a detailed security operation in place,” stated Sánchez González.

### Celebration Highlights and Security Deployment

This year, the main events will be hosted next to the Municipal Palace, around the Glorieta Miguel Hidalgo. Festivities are set to begin at 6 PM on Sunday, featuring a public fair, the traditional Grito de Independencia ceremony, and a free concert by Sonora Dinamita led by Lucho Argaín. Despite the major focus on this area, Sánchez González emphasized that other key locations like Zona Centro will not be neglected.

Enhanced security measures will also be evident around Parque Morelos, El Trompo Museum, and the Palenque, where the Tijuana Fair is held, owing to the various artistic activities taking place there. Vigilance posts will be established to ensure the safety of families attending the patriotic events.

While the exact number of deployed personnel will remain undisclosed for strategic reasons, Sánchez González assured that it would be a significant presence to safeguard the citizens of Tijuana. The installation of breathalyzers across multiple city points aims to ensure public safety during the celebrations.

Additionally, on September 16th, SSPCM will continue its monitoring during the traditional Independence Day parade.
