**Migrant Film Festival Arrives in Tijuana**

The International Migration Film Festival is set to make its way to Tijuana, featuring four film screenings that delve into the theme of migration from multiple perspectives. Christina Juárez, who is associated with labor migration coordination for the International Organization for Migration, emphasized that the festival aims to raise awareness about the lives and stories of migrants.

One of the festival’s highlights is the screening of the animated film “¡Patos!” on November 20 at 3 PM, hosted by Comunidad AVES community center. On November 27, the film “El viaje que no tiene fin” will be shown at 6 PM at Cine Bujazán, followed by “Nómadas” on November 28 at the Cineteca in the Tijuana Cultural Center (Cecut). Christina Juárez assures that these events are open to the public with free entry.

Additionally, there will be a private film showing of “El ombligo de Guie’Dani” at the Autonomous University of Baja California for students. These screenings aim to create a space for dialogue and reflection on migration.

**Increase in Deportations of Family Units Entering the US Irregularly**

Recent trends have shown an increase in deportations of family units who enter the United States without proper documentation. This shift is compounded by growing asylum consultation requests, particularly in light of potential changes in US administration and rising incidents of violence that have forced many to seek refuge.

In Tijuana, shelters such as Casa Migrante are experiencing higher occupancy rates as they accommodate those fleeing violence or facing deportations. Despite ongoing restrictions placed by the US, irregular crossings continue to be a significant issue.

Local authorities in Mariano Matamoros have launched a mobile unit service for early cancer detection, highlighting the pressing public health initiatives in the area. Meanwhile, electoral offenses in Baja California have led to multiple investigations, especially during the latest election cycle.
