**Homicide Report in Tijuana: A Violent Day in Santa María Neighborhood**
In a troubling development, Tijuana saw a wave of violence with seven homicides occurring within a 24-hour period. One of these incidents took place at the Beta sports courts in the Santa María neighborhood, where a man was fatally shot.
The tragic event unfolded at 7:09 PM on Sunday, November 17, when two men in a vehicle opened fire on another man who was present at the courts, injuring him fatally in the head. The victim, believed to be around 35 years old, was found wearing a brown hoodie, blue jeans, and black athletic shoes.
Conflicting witness reports have identified the suspects’ vehicle as either a gray and gold SUV or a white Ford Focus. The assailants managed to escape the scene before authorities arrived.
Earlier in the day, at 9:13 AM, the body of a 42-year-old man was discovered on Manuel J. Contreras Boulevard, also a victim of gun violence. Another man aged between 30 and 35 was found dead with similar injuries inside the Tijuana River Channel at the Padre Canyon at approximately 9:46 AM.
A subsequent discovery at 10:06 AM revealed a charred body of an unidentified man near a rainwater channel on Fresno Street in the Pino de Agüero neighborhood.
Further violence erupted at 7:23 PM, when a shooting on Francisco Villa Street in the Ejido Chilpancingo neighborhood resulted in injuries to a 33-year-old man and the death of a 19-year-old.
At the onset of Monday, at 12:17 AM, a 58-year-old man was found dead in a vacant lot off Libramiento Sur, near a pedestrian bridge in the Niños Héroes neighborhood. Another discovery along the same road at 1:36 AM found a man approximately 30 to 35 years old.
No arrests have been made in connection with any of these incidents, raising concerns about crime and safety in the area.
