Tijuana Heat Alert Status

**Tijuana Monitors Weather, No Heat Alert Yet** Tijuana remains vigilant against rising temperatures, closely monitoring reports. Health officials have not implemented a heatwave alert but are prepared.

### No Heat Wave Alert Implemented Yet in Tijuana
The epidemiological alert for high temperatures in Baja California has not been applied in Tijuana, according to José Abel Delgado Peraza, the head of the Health Services Jurisdiction in the Zona Costa, which includes Tijuana, Tecate, and Playas de Rosarito. While the state health department has already implemented measures in Mexicali, Tijuana remains on high alert but has not yet faced severe issues.

Delgado Peraza emphasized that the region is closely monitoring weather reports. “We remain vigilant, but fortunately, we do not have a current problem due to this issue… We are maintaining a watchful and expectant conduct in light of weather reports; we have been treated well by the climate in the Zona Costa,” stated the state official.

**State Civil Protection Warns of High Temperatures in the Region**

On Wednesday, José Adrián Medina Amarillas, Secretary of Health in Baja California, announced an epidemiological alert for high temperatures in Mexicali. The alert aims to reach the most affected populations during the heatwave, such as people experiencing homelessness and migrants.

“An epidemiological alert is a mechanism and protocol established by the federal Health Department and each state when a situation poses a danger to the community either by causing illness or death,” said Medina Amarillas. He detailed that during community operations, they will distribute bottles of water and oral rehydration solutions.

In Tijuana, there are 15 hydration points across various neighborhoods and health centers. The local Health Jurisdiction is still considering whether the same measures from Mexicali should be applied. “In the Jurisdiction, we have no fatalities or critical cases in Tecate, nor do we have hospitalized patients due to this situation. We are vigilant for any possible cases,” concluded Delgado Peraza.

### Secondary Article: Rising Temperatures Pressures Local Authorities in Mexicali

In response to the escalating temperatures, the state government in Mexicali has activated an outreach program targeting vulnerable groups. The initiative involves distributing hydration supplies and establishing cooling centers. Migrants and the homeless are particularly at risk during this heatwave, and officials have increased efforts to ensure their safety.

The federated measures come at a time when high temperature warnings have become commonplace in many regions across the globe, stressing the need for local authorities to implement preemptive and responsive strategies to safeguard public health.

**Steps Taken by Other Affected Regions**

In neighboring regions, similar measures are being taken. For instance, in Sonora, local governments have also set up hydration points and distributed cooling kits to help people combat the adverse effects of the heatwave. These initiatives underscore a growing recognition of the serious health risks posed by extreme weather conditions and the need for community-based responses.
