## Unidentified Remains Found in Tijuana’s Aeropuerto Neighborhood
As of August 17, 2024, six unidentified bodies have been discovered in a clandestine grave located in the Aeropuerto neighborhood of Tijuana. The findings were initially reported by Eddy Carrillo, president of the Todos Somos Erick Carrillo collective. According to Carrillo, the grave was first uncovered on July 20, leading to the discovery of two skeletons, one male and one female, in a state of advanced decomposition.
Subsequent investigations conducted by the collective on August 10 led to the identification of four additional bodies: two males and two females. However, despite the detailed search efforts, the identities of the deceased remain unknown as DNA tests conducted by the Baja California State Forensic Science Center have yet to match any existing samples in their database.
Carrillo stated, “So far, we haven’t been able to identify any of the bodies. We are expanding our search area as there might be more remains yet to be discovered. We estimate it will take about two more months to complete the search, as there are additional adjacent properties to investigate.”
