This Saturday, November 16th, residents of Tijuana will have the opportunity to participate in a free diabetes screening event organized by the Tijuana Otay Lions Club. The event, titled “First Day of the Diabetic Patient,” is set to take place at the Torre Agua Caliente park, located between Fundadores and Aguacaliente boulevards. The event will run from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm and is aimed at providing health services to adults over 18 who either have Diabetes Mellitus or suspect they might have it, all at no cost.

Participants will have access to over 50 healthcare professionals offering various services in general medicine, optometry, ophthalmology, dentistry, podiatry, nutrition, and audiology. The event emphasizes the importance of understanding and managing diabetes, as well as guiding patients towards appropriate care and informing them about possible complications related to the condition.

The initiative is a collaborative effort between Tijuana’s Lions Clubs, the Hall of Fame Museum, and educational institutions such as UABC and Universidad Xochicalco. Attendees are encouraged to arrive fasting to ensure accurate glucose level measurements and vital sign assessments.

Additionally, a “Vistatoon” event will enable attendees to receive free eye exams and glasses, enhancing overall community health and accessibility to essential health services.
