Tijuana – The primary goal is to provide assurance to the public and restore their trust in the police force, stated Teresita de Jesús Balderas Beltrán, the elected attorney for the 25th Tijuana Municipal Council.

“The citizens do not report crimes because they are afraid. We are going to ensure they feel protected, we will act with confidentiality and professionalism when they need to file a report,” she emphasized.

As the transition period comes to an end, the incoming head of the Attorney’s Office highlighted that the transition started on August 1. However, they have not yet received all the information from the outgoing administration but will have an additional 45 days to complete the transfer.

“We have been working in coordination with my transition team and have received some information. There is an operational aspect that cannot be paused during these transition days. While we have received some data, we cannot have full certainty until we officially take over on the first day,” Balderas Beltrán explained.
