Tijuana’s administration concludes with 616 orange points, improving safety for women. Botón Morado app gains traction, with 116,000 users benefitting from enhanced security features.

### Tijuana Government to Conclude with Over 616 Orange Points

The municipal administration of Tijuana will close with more than 616 orange points in the city, according to Tanya Alejandra Mota Alvarado, director of the Municipal Institute for Women (IMMUJER). Mota Alvarado highlighted that at the start of the current administration, there were 403 orange points. However, a thorough review process led to the removal of 100 of these points, retaining 300 that were found to be effective.

Over 116,000 women have downloaded the “Botón Morado” (Purple Button) application, which provides safety and assistance services. Mota Alvarado emphasized the significance of this initiative, stating, “It is important that the women and mothers of Tijuana know about the orange point, the purple button, and the ongoing efforts by IMMUJER.”

The initiative has received support from two major cinema chains and the city’s largest pharmacy network, with more than 100 branches across Tijuana joining the cause. This collective effort aims to bolster the safety and security of women in the city.
