### Tijuana Allocates Significant Budget Boost for Security in 2025
The city council of Tijuana has approved a substantial 100% budget increase for its 2025 Fiscal Year, aimed specifically at enhancing safety and security measures. This significant rise in funding, now amounting to 762 million pesos, will be used to provide essential resources and services to the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection, ensuring its efficient functionality.
Alongside this budget increase, an additional 1,970 million pesos of local resources will be utilized, supplemented by contributions from the Federal District’s Strengthening of Municipalities and Territorial Demarcations Fund (FORTAMUN). The total approved expenditure for municipal departments reaches over 12 billion pesos, encompassing various operational programs.
The unanimous approval from the city council also covered annual operational programs and personnel arrangements for municipal and paramunicipal entities for the next fiscal year. Numerous departments, including the Municipal Social Development, Family Development System, Women’s Institute, and more, will benefit from this budget, driving improvements across public infrastructure, technology, and cultural projects.
