Tijuana Boardwalk Project Stalls

Despite ongoing delays, Tijuana Beach continues to welcome visitors. Efforts are underway to swiftly resume the boardwalk reconstruction with enhanced safety measures for workers and the public.

## Ongoing Suspension of Tijuana Beach Boardwalk Reconstruction

The suspension of the Tijuana Beach boardwalk reconstruction continues, as reported by local authorities. Ismael Burgueño Ruíz, Tijuana’s municipal president, indicated that the state’s Civil Protection department still maintains the halt on the project.

“The information I have is that the construction was stopped during the last administration. We intend to coordinate with the state government to resolve this issue. We will engage with state authorities to create the conditions needed to move forward with this project,” Burgueño Ruíz stated.

The suspension, which began on Friday, September 13, during the previous administration, was due to a lack of proper signage and required safety measures. Following the suspension, the municipality was given 15 days to implement the necessary recommendations.

Burgueño Ruíz mentioned that the new municipal government would review the contracts related to the project to determine if any changes are necessary. “We will contact the contractors involved in the project, thoroughly review the contracts, and decide the best way to proceed. If changes are needed, we will consider making them to ensure the project resumes smoothly,” he added.
