Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement officers found ballistic evidence. A short distance away, on Second Street and Niños Héroes, they discovered a roughly 50-year-old man who had been injured. The man reported that he did not see those responsible for the attack. He was subsequently taken to a hospital for medical attention.

At the hospital, a second man, approximately 58 years old, was found to be injured as well. No arrests have been made, and the attackers reportedly fled in a Toyota Corolla. The area was secured by municipal police, the Mexican Army, and the National Guard.
